I got strep throat on April 8, and I'm still having problems with it. It started with this and gained flu like symptoms, specifically no energy, fever, some headaches, and that got better with OTC medications, but after that I had a severe sore throat, and it's finally at a much less painful level (any remedies?) I have just blew out some gooey greenish mucus; now I'm not, and the pain has lessened. Anyway, I still have a strep throat with manageable pain, and I still see the little white spots of strep. It actually went away almost completely, then came back with a dry throat feeling that made me choke. This strep throat was alternating, pretty bad on the right side, and now it's currently on my left side. I feel pain in my left ear currently when I swallow, and now I have a cough, where I am coughing mucus, clearing up my lungs like that, not much mucus, but that type of cough. I run track and I am allergic to pollen, which there seems to be a lot of in my area, so that may also contribute to the never ending strep throat.
Basically, I want to know what I can do. Please tell me about remedies, and prescription medications relating to this. Btw, I have diarrhea with amoxicillin, so just try to list other antibiotic that will most likely be prescribed. This is extremely annoying and I just want some answers, some help.
